Microsoft will release the first developer version of PCVR helmets from Baidu VR in March

It is reported that Microsoft will bring the first virtual reality helmet based on Win10 VR system at the Game Developers Conference held in Los Angeles from February 27 to March 3, and Microsoft will be in 2 On the 8th of a Microsoft Developer Webcast Conference, released the latest API (Application Programming Interface) to VR developers.

Microsoft said: This helmet is mainly for game developers and will help Win10 developers upgrade, allowing developers to develop and test VR content on the Windows Holographic platform. And this VR helmet resembles Hololens. On the one hand, it allows users to interact with 3D images superimposed on the real world. On the other hand, users can watch VR movies and play VR games just like Oculus Rift.

However, Microsoft's PC VR needs to connect to a PC that meets the specifications. Once connected to a PC, it will automatically download and install the driver software. Next, similar to the HTC Vive, the system will ask to set the activity space and warn you once it leaves the space system. The built-in camera on the helmet can take pictures of the environment, map it to the PC to form an environmental model, and the helmet also has built-in mobile tracking technology. In addition, Microsoft helmets can also be used with Microsoft's artificial intelligence system Cortana (Microsoft Xiaona). Users can use language to issue commands and interact with them. Currently, helmets can support nine languages, and more will be added later.

In addition, Microsoft will also open up all Win103 applications, allowing users to use a helmet, such as Skype. The Microsoft browser Edge also joins WebVR support. In addition, some applications from Hololens will also be added.

Unfortunately, Microsoft's helmet still needs to wait for a while before it is available. Moreover, Microsoft is not ready to sell the helmet to ordinary consumers. Instead, it plans to use Lenovo, Acer, and Microsoft’s partners later this year. ASUS, Hewlett-Packard, Dell and 3Glasses sell Microsoft VR Eco helmets.
