Museum lighting design requirements

Lighting quality requirements
Illuminance uniformity
2. Glare limitation
3. The color of the light source
4. Three-dimensionality
5. The color and reflectance of the showroom surface

Museum lighting should create a good visual environment for the audience, consider the protection of exhibits, and reduce the damage of light radiation (including visible radiation, infrared radiation, ultraviolet radiation).

Illumination uniformity
For flat exhibits, the ratio of minimum illuminance to average illuminance should not be less than 0.8, but for flat exhibits with a height greater than 1.4 m, the ratio of minimum illuminance to average illuminance should not be less than 0.4, only the general lighting booth, the ground minimum illuminance The ratio to the average illumination should not be less than 0.7.

Glare limitation
In the field of view of the exhibits, there should be no direct glare from the light source or window or reflected glare from various surfaces. The image produced by the viewer or other objects on the glossy surface (such as showcase glass or frame glass) should not be Obstructing the audience to watch the exhibits, for oil paintings or shiny exhibits, there should be no light curtain reflection in the viewing direction of the audience.

Light source color
A light source with a color temperature of less than 3300K should be used as the illumination source. In places where high color discrimination is required for display painting, color fabrics, multi-color exhibits, etc., a light source with a general color rendering index (Ra) of not less than 90 should be used as the illumination source. For places where the color discrimination requirements are not high, a light source having a general color rendering index of not less than 60 may be used as the illumination source.

Three-dimensional
For three-dimensional exhibits, the three-dimensionality should be observed. Stereo induction is achieved by a combination of directional illumination and diffuse illumination

Color and reflectance of the exhibition room surface
The wall should be made of neutral color and matt finish. The reflection ratio should not be greater than 0.6. The floor should be made of matt finish. The reflection ratio should not be greater than 0.3. The ceiling should be covered with matt finish. The ratio should not be greater than 0.8.

Natural lighting design of the exhibition room
1. The side lighting factor (Cmin) should be 1% and the top lighting factor (Cav) should be 1.5%.
2. There should be no direct sunlight entering the exhibition room
3. The illuminance produced by natural light should not exceed the standard value
4. The ultraviolet and infrared radiation in natural light should be reduced so that the relative content of ultraviolet light is less than 75μW/1m.
5. Skylights should be used on the top floor.
6. Artificial lighting must be set up for auxiliary lighting
Exhibit protection
1. The UV and IR radiation in the light and natural light should be reduced so that the relative UV content of the source is less than 75μW/1m.
2. For exhibits that are sensitive or sensitive to light, in addition to limiting the level of illumination to no more than the standard value, the exposure time should be reduced. When closed, the exhibits should be in a state of no light.
3. For special protection and cultural relics that are particularly sensitive and particularly precious to light, which are sealed in a vacuum or in an inert atmosphere, and kept in a special showcase or special exhibition room, must be in special circumstances. It is allowed to be exposed under the specified illuminance.

Lighting design of the exhibition room
General requirements
2. Light source and luminaire
3. Display lighting
(1) Wall display lighting
(2) Stereo display lighting
(3) Showcase display lighting

Special attributes and lighting patterns of the exhibits

Form, structure, gloss, transparency, color

Diffuse and focus
Good color rendering

Exhibit protection and lighting

Exhibit material properties
Light source, color filter, illuminance control
Ultraviolet radiation, infrared radiation, high temperature inside the cabinet
Sensitive exhibits, such as oil paintings, illumination levels 150lux
Non-sensitive exhibits, such as stone, metal, 300lux
Highly sensitive materials - books, watercolors, fabrics, maximum illumination

Wall exhibits - wall lighting
(even wallwasher and focused spotlight)
Angle of incidence
Vertical incidence angle 30° (museum)
Sculpture - direct light - three-dimensional and surface structure

LED street lights achieve ultra brightness/luminance; energy-saving over 70%. Special modular design for theLens (independent modules) and high luminous efficacy, high CRI, easy for maintenance.Intelligent and isolated power supply (NS semiconductor and Japan Rubycon capacitor), reliable and stable; automatically reduce current against overheating working temperature
