In 2015, LED lighting market share reached about 20%

The Chinese government attaches great importance to lighting and electricity saving work. On the basis of actively learning from international experience, it began to organize and implement China's green lighting project in 1996 and included it in each of China's five-year plans as the "Ninth Five-Year Plan" and "Ten Five "energy-saving key areas, the ten major energy-saving projects of the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan".

Although semiconductor lighting as an emerging lighting product has not yet entered the ranks of national financial subsidies, according to industry sources, semiconductor lighting products are expected to achieve this goal by the end of this year. Moreover, there is no doubt that the state has always attached great importance to the development of the semiconductor lighting industry. In 2009, the six ministries and commissions jointly issued the “Opinions on the Development of Semiconductor Lighting Energy-Saving Industry”, aiming to promote the healthy and orderly development of China's semiconductor lighting energy-saving industry, guiding social rational investment, avoiding blind expansion and low-level redundant construction, and fostering new economic growth. On June 24, Lu Wenbin, Director of the Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction Division of the Department of Resource Conservation and Environmental Protection of the National Development and Reform Commission, said at the International Symposium on Eliminating Inefficient Lighting Products that the country will continue to promote green lighting projects in future planning. The country will also incorporate semiconductor lighting into the green lighting engineering system. At the same time, it will conduct in-depth discussions on how to promote the sustainable and healthy development of China's semiconductor lighting industry, and has formulated a number of development goals:

1. By 2015, the market share of products will increase year by year, functional lighting will reach 20%, LCD backlights will reach 50%, and market share of landscape decoration and other products will reach 70% or more;

2. The independent innovation capability of enterprises has been significantly enhanced, and large-scale MOCVD equipment, key raw materials and more than 70% of the chips have been localized;

3. The industrial concentration has been significantly improved, and there are about 10 leading enterprises with independent brands and large market influence;

4. Initially establish a semiconductor lighting standard system;

5. Achieve 40 billion kWh of electricity per year, equivalent to 40 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions per year.
