On January 18, Yonhap News Agency reported that LG Electronics has launched a new range of air conditioners equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) technology. These models support voice recognition and are priced between $1,900 and $4,405, offering a blend of smart home innovation and energy efficiency.

The latest addition to LG’s lineup is the LG Whisen ThinQ air conditioner, which integrates AI capabilities powered by the DeepThinQ platform. This advanced system not only recognizes voice commands but also learns users’ preferences over time. It can assess indoor temperature, humidity, and air quality, adjusting settings accordingly for optimal comfort.
Dan Song, President of LG Electronics’ Home Appliance Division, highlighted that the Whisen ThinQ air conditioner will gradually adapt to user habits, making it more intuitive with continued use. This personalization feature sets it apart from traditional models, enhancing the overall user experience.
This launch marks the official integration of LG’s ThinQ smart brand into the Whisen series. The new air conditioners come with the DeepThinQ voice assistant, allowing users to interact naturally with their devices. For example, if someone says “hot,†the air conditioner will ask if they want to cool down. It supports voice commands from multiple platforms, including LG, Google, Amazon, and SK Telecom, making it highly versatile.
With a wide price range, these smart air conditioners cater to different consumer needs while showcasing LG’s commitment to innovation in home appliances. As smart homes become more common, LG’s entry into this space with AI-driven technology signals a significant step forward in the evolution of climate control systems.
