Multi-Handed Carla B3 Crossover Bracelet Experience in Smart Bracelet

Although the current trend on the internet revolves around artificial intelligence and virtual reality, before AI and VR took center stage, smart wearable devices were all the rage. Over the past two years, the smart wearable market has grown increasingly competitive. In today's highly standardized market, innovation and functionality have naturally become key weapons for competition. Today, I bring you a hands-on review of the multi-functional hand in the smart bracelet field – the Lakala B3 Business Edition. You might find it familiar if you've heard of Lakala. Their swipe card terminals are ubiquitous in convenience stores on the streets. The Lakala Cross-Border Bracelet is the world’s first third-generation wristband released by the Lakala Group. It integrates sports tracking, heart rate monitoring, transportation card functionality, quick payment, credit services, and financial features. Truly a bragging platform and a functional terminal. The first impression I had when handling it was that it’s compact, with packaging nearly the size of my palm, reminiscent of a founder’s box. The front displays an image of the bracelet, while the back shows its specifications and version information. The packaging uses a drawer-style opening mechanism, gently pushed from both sides to form a plastic outer shell. Overall, it feels simple yet elegant. Inside, there’s only one user manual and three sets of information. Unfortunately, unlike some Xiaomi bracelets, it doesn’t come with a data cable. The wristband design closely resembles that of the Xiaomi bracelet, using a buckle mechanism. The strap remains snug during intense physical activity and won’t easily slip off. The main body of the bracelet features a small cold light display, with the touchscreen below the screen cycling through various functions. First, it lights up when touched, then it shows the time, steps taken, walking distance, calories burned, heart rate, sleep patterns, and battery life. These functions are customizable, allowing users to add or remove them. I found this level of customization thoughtful and practical. The back of the bracelet houses the photoplethysmography (PPG) heart rate sensor. When the heart rate detection function is active, the green LED lights up. Without delving too deeply into technicalities, here are a few more details about its appearance. Let’s take a closer look. The Lakala B3 bracelet is both detachable and replaceable, with a hidden USB charging interface. The official Lakala offers options in black, blue, and red, ensuring there’s a color for everyone! I received the classic black model this time. Additionally, as a sports bracelet, waterproofing is essential, and it achieves an IP67 rating. After testing, I found that a brief submersion presented no issues! Since this is a feature-packed bracelet, let’s explore its functionalities. To begin, you’ll need to connect it to your mobile phone by installing Lakala’s app. The mobile phone can scan an external QR code, making the entire connection process straightforward. After successfully linking the mobile phone, the app has four main functional sections at a glance. Traditional features such as call reminders, alarms, step counting, and sleep tracking are present. Additionally, it includes thoughtful additions like a sedentary reminder, essentially serving as your personal health consultant. I was particularly excited about the bus and subway card swiping function, but unfortunately, I couldn't experience it since Lakala officially supports only a few cities including Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou! There’s also a quick payment function, but as the author does not have a supported bank card, we can only hope for future improvements from the official side. [Pros] - Versatile, solving numerous daily problems. - Sleek and economical design aligns with public aesthetics, targeting a broad user base. - Convenient connection, use, and charging processes make it user-friendly. [Cons] - Battery life is satisfactory but could improve; wearing it for two days and keeping it on standby for another two leaves 32% charge, lagging behind competitors like the Xiaomi bracelet 2. - The bracelet’s surface isn’t scratch-resistant; after just a short period of use, noticeable scratches appeared. - Limited support for bank cards and bus cities; I hope Lakala will expand to more locations and banks in the future. Life is pretty satisfying, but these minor drawbacks aside, the Lakala B3 remains a strong contender in the smart bracelet market.
