Although artificial intelligence and virtual reality are currently the hottest trends online, the rise of smart wearable devices preceded their popularity. After two years of industry growth, the smart wearable market has become increasingly competitive. In today's highly saturated market, innovation and functionality have naturally become key weapons in the competition.
The author today would like to introduce you to the multi-functional Lakala B3 Business Edition smart bracelet, which might just be what you're looking for. We may already be familiar with Lakala, given how common their card-swiping terminals are in convenience stores. The Lakala Cross-Border Bracelet is the world’s first third-generation wristband from the Lakala Group. It integrates functions such as sports tracking, heart rate monitoring, transportation, quick payment, credit services, and financial management, making it truly a platform for bragging rights and a terminal for showcasing one’s lifestyle.
Upon receiving the Lakala B3 bracelet, the first impression was that it was compact, with a packaging box almost the size of a palm. The packaging is simple yet elegant, featuring the bracelet image on the front and technical specifications on the back. It uses a drawer-style opening mechanism, and the two sides gently slide out to reveal a plastic outer layer. Inside, there’s only one user manual and three information packets. Unfortunately, unlike some other brands, it doesn’t come with a charging cable.
The design of the bracelet is similar to that of other popular models. It uses a buckle system, and the wristband is snug enough not to fall off during intense activities. The main part of the bracelet features a small cold-light display, with the touch-sensitive circular area below the screen used to switch between functions. Initially, the lights illuminate, followed by time, steps taken, distance walked, calories burned, heart rate, sleep tracking, and battery status. These functions are customizable, allowing users to add or remove them according to their preferences. This level of customization is thoughtful and practical.
On the back of the bracelet is the photoelectric heart rate sensor area. When the heart rate monitoring function is active, a green light illuminates. Let’s move on to some more detailed looks at the design.
The Lakala B3 bracelet is both removable and replaceable, with a hidden USB charging interface. The official Lakala also offers various color options including black, blue, and red, ensuring there’s a color choice for everyone. The author received the classic black version this time. Additionally, as a sports bracelet, waterproofing is essential, and this model achieves an IP67 rating. After testing, the author found that it could withstand brief submersion without any issues!
Since this is a powerful and comprehensive bracelet, let’s explore its functions. First, you’ll need to connect your smartphone by downloading the Lakala app. Scanning the QR code on the outside is straightforward, and the entire setup process is seamless.
After successfully pairing the device, the app consists of four main functional sections. It includes traditional features like call reminders, alarms, step counting, and sleep monitoring. Additionally, it offers a sedentary reminder feature, acting as your personal health advisor.
I was really excited about the bus and subway card swiping function, but unfortunately, I couldn’t try it out because Lakala only supports a few cities like Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangdong.
There’s also a quick payment function, but since my bank isn’t supported by Lakala, I couldn’t fully test it. We can only hope for future improvements from the official team.
[Pros]
- Versatile: One bracelet solves many daily problems.
- Stylish and affordable design, appealing to a broad audience.
- Easy to set up, charge, and use.
[Cons]
- Battery life could be better; wearing it for two days with moderate usage left me with 32% battery remaining, which falls short compared to competitors like the Xiaomi bracelet 2.
- The bracelet’s surface is not scratch-resistant; after a short period of use, noticeable scratches appeared.
- Limited support for banks and cities for quick payments and transportation. I hope Lakala expands its coverage in the future.
Overall, the Lakala B3 is a solid option for those looking for a multi-functional smart bracelet, with plenty of room for improvement in future iterations.
