Laoji received this old projector from the measuring group, and Jiji decided to bring it to our newly built studio to showcase its "texture." However, this old projector is still in its early stages. Let’s start with the appearance and details. Fat friends who are familiar with the older models know that judging by photos alone won’t give you the full picture. Opening the box is key to understanding its design. So let’s dive in!

Now, let’s take a look at the host itself. It appears to be made of a brushed metal material, but it's actually resin.

Not very big, roughly half the size of a 15.6-inch laptop. The lens is mostly hidden within the host, protecting the fragile lens.

There are only two buttons on the device: a small power button and a larger focus adjustment button that uses electronic focusing rather than a manual knob.

The back of the projector includes a headphone jack, USB storage, and an HDMI port. This isn’t just an internet-connected Android projector; it can also connect to a computer or play content from a USB drive.

Now, let’s move on to the core component—the lens. It has a high-gloss finish and is hidden inside the projector for protection.

Next, let’s explore the actual usage of the projector and the mobile app. We quickly set it up in the basement to test it out.

The use is straightforward—first, download the app.

Follow the prompts to connect. Note: If your router has guests connected to Wi-Fi, connect both the projector and your phone to the management account’s Wi-Fi.

Then, set up the projector step-by-step according to the screen prompts.

After pairing is complete, the app becomes a remote control. On the right side of the sound adjustment, there’s a screenshot button for a clearer view.

Click on the application area on the left to download many apps directly, such as popular video streaming services like TV cats. Due to policy restrictions, network STBs cannot directly download third-party apps. While some STB remote controls have hidden features or allow using a USB drive to install apps, this can be cumbersome for some users. With this app, you can easily download custom third-party video software.

Although the Platinum VIP supports 4K playback, this projector has only 800P (not yet 1K high), so switching to a 4K video source will automatically reduce the effect.

Experience with the projector’s operating speed. Since the basement Wi-Fi isn’t great, loading movies can be a bit slow.

Brightness and sharpness tests were conducted in three scenarios: with lights on, off, and partially open curtains. The 1200-lumen brightness is sufficient in most conditions.

In addition to built-in Android apps, the projector can also display content from mobile phones. To project content from an Android phone, ensure both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network. Swipe up on the iPhone to enable AirPlay, select the micro whale projector, and cast it directly.

Summary and expectations: Overall, the micro whale F1 projector offers a smooth UI, decent brightness, and good voice recognition. The resin material feels less premium compared to metal, which could improve both aesthetics and heat dissipation. Integrating the transformer into the projector would be beneficial for aesthetics. Lastly, upgrading to 1080P or even 4K resolution would greatly enhance its appeal in today’s market.
