China's 3C electronic and electrical products can travel to the New Zealand market

On April 7, the "Cooperation Agreement between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the New Zealand Government on the Conformity Assessment of Electronic and Electrical Products and Their Components" (hereinafter referred to as the "Agreement") was formally signed. The Agreement is the first mutual recognition arrangement between the Chinese government and foreign governments in the field of product certification. According to the Agreement, CCC-certified products can be legally entered into New Zealand by CCC certification and CCC mark.

The Agreement applies to electronic and electrical products that are manufactured, assembled and traded directly in China and New Zealand. According to the contents of the Agreement, New Zealand will recognize China's Compulsory Product Certification (CCC) results for China's export of electronic and electrical products and components to New Zealand, and no additional administrative access measures. For New Zealand's electronic and electrical products exported to China, the New Zealand's conformity assessment body confirmed by us will be certified according to China's mandatory certification requirements. New Zealand institutions and personnel engaged in conformity assessment will be accredited and registered in accordance with China's regulations. This is another result of the certification and recognition of the elimination of barriers and convenient trade through mutual recognition after Vietnam’s direct customs clearance of some products in China in 2002.

The scope of China-Singapore mutual recognition covers eight categories of electronic and electrical products such as wire and cable, circuit switches, low-voltage electrical appliances, power tools, household equipment, audio and video products, information technology equipment, and lighting equipment. The signing of the Agreement will promote the further improvement of the quality of export electronic and electrical products, and will greatly reduce the export cost of enterprises.

It is understood that the negotiation of cooperation in the field of conformity assessment of China-Singapore Electronic Appliances was launched in early 2004. Later, in order to tie in with the China-Singapore Free Trade Area negotiations, the negotiations were included under the framework of the China-Singapore Free Trade Area. The "Agreement" signed this time is also an annex to the "Free Trade Agreement between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the New Zealand Government". It is a specific cooperation between the two sides in promoting the sound and rapid development of trade in the field of technical trade barriers. It is also China's cooperation in the free trade zone. The first achievement in this field.

Compulsory product certification is a product evaluation and market access system implemented by the Chinese government to protect the health and safety of consumers, protect the environment, and protect national security in accordance with laws and regulations. As a developed country in the economy, New Zealand has a high degree of internationalization and a sound consumer protection law. The requirements of relevant standards, regulations and conformity assessment procedures have always been very strict. The signing of the Agreement marks the first time that developed countries have recognized China's certification procedures and results, indicating that the standards, regulations and conformity assessment procedures of China's compulsory certification system are basically in line with international standards, and its standards, regulations and conformity assessment procedures have reached international standards. The advanced level has been internationally recognized and adopted, and will further enhance the reputation of China's manufactured products and China's certification and accreditation system.
