Nanjie's upcoming compact SUV, the U5 SUV, is set to go on pre-sale during the Chengdu Motor Show, which kicked off on August 25, and will officially launch on October 16. This model is expected to make a strong impression with its fresh design and advanced tech features.
From the front, the U5 SUV sports a completely new face that sets it apart from previous models. The most notable feature is the honeycomb-style grille, which is seamlessly integrated with the LED headlights. The taillights extend all the way to the front doors, creating a unique and highly recognizable look. The front design also features blue and black stitching, while the lower part of the grille has a darkened finish for better dirt resistance. The headlights are divided into two sections, including high/low beams and daytime running lights, giving the car a modern and sophisticated appearance.
Moving to the sides, the body lines are smooth and fluid, with a distinct color scheme across the roof, body, and B-pillar, appealing to younger buyers who value personalization. At the rear, the brand name is spelled out in English, a common approach among independent automakers, but the design remains simple and elegant. Inside, the cabin layout isn’t overly innovative, leaning more toward a cost-effective design. However, one of the standout features is the new Think+3.0 infotainment system, paired with a 12-inch touchscreen. It runs on Baidu Cloud (Car Life) and supports both USB and Bluetooth connectivity. Voice control allows users to interact with the system for navigation, calls, and entertainment. While the user experience is still unknown, Baidu's platform has generally been reliable in the past.
Under the hood, the U5 SUV is powered by a 1.6T engine producing 123kW (167PS) of power and 240N·m of torque. It comes with a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, ensuring a balance between performance and efficiency. Overall, the U5 SUV seems to be a well-rounded vehicle that combines style, technology, and practicality for the modern driver.
