Ni Kai, who previously served as the head of smart driving at LeTV, has now embarked on a new journey by founding HoloMaTIc, a company specializing in mass-producing Level 3.5 autonomous driving systems. Before this, there were speculations about Ni Kai's potential involvement with NavInfo.
Data shows that Ni Kai has been deeply involved in multiple unmanned vehicle projects, working with companies like Microsoft, Baidu, and LeTV. His newly established company, Hedo Technology, currently employs around 30 people and has received financial backing from Bertelsmann China.
Regarding the new venture, Hedo Technology’s L3.5 technology aims to reduce the number of times users have to take over from the system compared to traditional L3 systems, offering an experience closer to fully autonomous driving (Level 4). While their ultimate goal is to develop a quasi-Level 4 system, it will initially be integrated into the Level 3 framework for practical applications.
Hedo Technology has already initiated collaborations with automotive manufacturers and suppliers. They have also entered into a strategic partnership with JAC Italian Design Center to focus on advancing autonomous driving technologies. Together, they aim to contribute to the EU’s “Vision 2020†initiative, developing lightweight, smart electric vehicles that offer sustainable urban transportation solutions.
