From the beginning of this year, the municipal public facilities' comprehensive maintenance management department led by the Municipal Public Utilities Bureau and the street lamp management office cooperated to carry out the “lighting†project for “lightless roads and no lightsâ€. It is expected that all 93 road (community) reconstruction tasks will be completed before the end of the year, and 699 street lamps will be lighted in the various small streets and lanes that need the most illumination.
For the renovation of street lamps in “old and old residential quartersâ€, the “Regulations on the Management of Urban Road Lighting Facilities in Nanjing†implemented on February 1, 2007 clearly states that urban public lighting facilities should be linked with urban road construction, new district development, and old city reconstruction. And the construction of residential quarters will be implemented simultaneously. The old and old residential quarters that are not equipped with urban public lighting facilities shall be arranged by the relevant government departments and gradually matched.
The light-free roads and light-free communities that have been arranged for this arrangement are planned on the basis of extensive collection of information.
